Today we created pie charts representing the distribution of Earth's waters. We also began reviewing for the Unit 4 Test on Wednesday. Unit 4 Notebook due on Wednesday.
Today we focused on STEAM wind turbines. Students created a turbine in a group to see if they could get their design to rotate and be supported. Some of them had to reconsider their design, if the original didn't work.
Today we wrote about renewable energy sources. We also completed a design brief for making wind turbines for STEAM week.
Today we did the Cloud in a Jar lab as well as made water cycle haiku poems. This is #8 in the notebook.
Today we watched Watershed: Exploring a New Water Ethic for the New West and took notes. This is number 7 in the Unit 4 Notebook.

Today we read pages 160-175 in the book. Students answered the review questions throughout the lesson as well as the review questions on page 175. Please remember you can access the book from my blog at the top.
We did not get to launch the hot air balloons since the launcher broke yesterday; however, we will launch as soon as it is up and running again. Thanks for your patience! Mr. Moore from Cobb County water visited our classroom for a water filtration activity.
